This is brilliant! A step-by-step plan to follow which is well explained and provides a 'big picture'. I want to brand myself and, although I understand the concept of branding and am aware of the power of social media, didn't know exactly what to do ... I have printed this out and have it on my notice board on my desk.

You nailed the essence of what personal branding is; the discovery of yourself and your passions. RJ has made it so easy for anyone to do this, that it is no surprise to me that you printed this article out and carry it around (I'm guilty of it as well). You would be amazed though how many people don't take the time to figure out exactly who they are and what they really want to do. You have to let the world know who you are and why they should care.

incredibly insightful. Things you are either doing now or need to do right away. As indicated, spend time on each step, that to me is the most fascinating part of the journey discovering through self your passion and what floats your boat. I believe at that point it becomes an healthy obsession which starts to drive your life into the direction that you were meant to be going all along. Branding yourself simply is making a statement to the world, this is who I am, this is my passion and this is my competencies. I printed this out and carry it around with me in my bag and from time to time I find myself re-reading it and learning something new about myself each time.

It is an interesting concept to wrap your mind around but makes clear sense once you think about it. Just like the brands you like to buy when you shop, employers are looking for a certain type of professional. Make yourself stand out and pertain to the needs of the employer, let them know what sets you apart from the rest.

Hope the road map helps you on your way to building a stronger personal brand!
